In California

This week I am in Irvine, California at our office doing some phone system upgrades. I brought my camera to take some pictures of the fires, but they seem to be out. We are here until tomorrow. Maybe I will have a chance to get out with my camera.

Paper bills

Since Katherine and I moved out on our own, we have amassed many paper bills and documents (bills, statements, etc). I am tired of finding places to store these documents and protecting them from water and other possible damages. I think I am going to start scanning these documents so I can destroy the paper [...]

Servers are back up.

The conversion is complete. Over the last week I have upgraded to Exchange 2007 and swapped servers. Exchange 2007 requires 64-bit and I only had one 64-bit enabled server, which was the web server. I am very impressed with Exchange 2007. After using a couple of products designed to emulate Exchange, it is nice to [...]

Rodeo

This year we went to the National High School Rodeo Finals. It was a very enlightening experience. Even though it was the national finals, there were competitors from all over the globe. LAN Party Tonight

Well, tonight is the first big LAN party of the season. My buddy Justin is having it and we should have around 11 people. It should be a blast. There is nothing like playing Battlefield 2 with 10 other people for 6 – 8 hours straight. I can’t wait.

First Floor remodel

Katherine and I just recently had the flooring in our first floor replaced. We ripped up the carpet and vinyl and put down bamboo flooring. We are really happy with it. We also repainted the walls and rearranged the living room. I would recommend anyone looking at installing wood flooring to look at bamboo. It [...]

The worst salesman ever.

I recently decided to cancel my cable TV service since I am paying $51 for about 5 decent channels. So I called Insight Communications and canceled my service two days ago. Last night I have a message on my answering machine to call he who will remain nameless from Insight. I call this person and [...]

Interesting Occurrence

On the way to work today I saw a Park District Police car pull over a woman on Monroe. I always thought that the Park District Police were not real cops. I guess I shouldn’t speed by them anymore. I think I would be very angry if I was pulled over by a Park District [...]
